06.01.10 - FONCY BENEFIT FROM BIG FREEZE AT WALSALL By way of a change, I decided to travel to Walsall for City's Christmas fixture by official "Club Canary" coach. To add a bit of fun to the day, the appointed coach steward runs a sweepstake based on first and last goal scorer of that day's match, with the winnings divided accordingly. Unfortunately, as is well documented, the match was postponed shortly after we arrived at the stadium. Our coach steward for the day, Mike Trivett, put it to the vote as to whether or not individuals should be reimbursed with the sweepstake or, alternatively, the monies be donated to FONCY. I am pleased to say that despite the disappointment of the day the FONCY donation option was chosen and I was presented with a bag of loose change totalling £51.00 to add to our funds. FONCY would like to pass on their thanks to all travellers on "Coach No. 5", who put to one side the disappointment of the day to make this generous donation. Let's hope we get further rewarded with three points on 12th January. Richard Bland |
