Bank holiday Monday brings the curtain down on yet another season at Carrow Road with the Norwich City Open Day, and for FONCY it is one of the most important dates of the year with our annual Open Day auction and FONCY "old kit" stand. The auction is all set to get underway at around 3:45pm with once again Ken Ewing taking charge of proceedings. Once again we have some interesting items up for grabs as well as some old favourites. Sammy Clingan has kindly donated a signed pair of boots [see photo] which will be framed by our good friend Gary Booty from the Frame Room at the Dixon Centre. Gary has also framed a couple of interesting photos that we feel will grab peoples attention and of course our regular large frame centre piece [see photo] that this year contains signed photos of all the players that have featured since Bryan Gunn took over the managers role. On the subject of the manager Bryan has donated one of his signed training tops. We have three 59's shirts signed by Darel Russell, Matty Patterson and David Marshall while the City stopper has donated a signed pair of gloves. Another item sure to be sought after is a frame shirt as worn by Dion Dublin in the away game against blackpool in season 2007/2008. In total over forty items will go under the hammer. The provisional auction catalogue can be found here. Before the auction, on the day we will of course be selling off old training kit that kit manager Manny Fowler has kindly handed over. Last year the FONCY stand ressembled the January sales with The Canary Fairy leading the charge to the stand when the gates opened. Last year we had boxes and boxes of items to sell and it all went. This year there is only a limited amount of kit so if you do not want to be dissapointed we suggest you make the FONCY stand in the Norfolk Lounge one of your first ports of call when the gates open. |
