City Reserves produced their best performance of the season when they beat league leaders Reading at Colney on Wednesday afternoon, the defeat is thought to be the first by Reading's second string this season. Mathias Svensson was expected to start the game in attack alongside Ian Henderson, however at the last minute he was forced to pull out with what appears to have been a sore throat. This paved the way for Adam Smith to make the starting line up with Keith Webb reshuffing the pack. The Canaries found themselves a goal behind after just 120 seconds when Dave Kitson turned a corner through the legs of Paul Crichton. City's best chance during the first 45 minutes fell to Henderson, but with the goal in sight he fired his shot into the arms of Jamie Young in the visitors goal. |

Danny Crow, who missed Saturdays Academy game against Millwall, came on at half-time to replace Leon McKenzie and it was he who fired City level on the hour mark. A poor clearance by Young saw the ball fall to Crow, who still had plenty to do before firing in a low shot from the edge of the penalty area. With 73 minutes on the clock City took the lead that their play richly deserved. Persistent work by Dean Sinclair saw the City midfielder win the ball before setting up Clint Easton, who beat Young from the edge of the area with a looping right foot shot. City Line-up: Crichton, Briggs, Smith, Sinclair, Shackell, Halliday, Rivers [Willis 62], McKenzie [Crow 45], Henderson, Mulryne [Blackburn 73], Easton. Sub Not Used: Herbert. |
