Hassia Junioren Cup - Bingen Indoor Tournament Report Jan 2005

A Sunday Morning in Germany

Following the Bingen Indoor Tournament on the Saturday, Norwich had been expecting another tournament on Sunday 16th January. However a mix up in dates meant that this tournament had been played earlier in January and the Norwich travelling squad were left with a free day in Germany.

A solution was quickly found as TSV Wehen as hosts, Brondby from Denmark and Norwich played out a friendly round-robin of three thirty-minute matches on Wehen's artificial pitch, high in the hills above the Rhine. The setting was indeed picturesque, although very cold.

Norwich's small travelling squad was decimated with injuries and some local german players from Hassia Bingen helped Ricky Martin provide some football practice for his remaining fit players.
