For the second time this week Norwich City Academy welcomed Northampton Town to Colney. After their Under-18 side were beaten in midweek it was the turn of The Cobblers Under-16 side to take on their Canary counterparts. In the event the visitors twice took the lead before City pegged them back. While Northampton were denied what looked a certain penalty in the second-half, they were pleased to hold onto a draw after City piled the pressure on in the final quarter of the game. Town took the lead with a well struck free kick on the quarter hour mark and held the lead up until the break, although City went close through Michael Spillane and Seb Muddel. |

It took City just five minutes of the second half to draw level when Chris Martin fired in a thirty yard screamer, but just three minutes later Town were back in front when a close range header came back off the City crossbar allowing one of the Northampton substitutes to fire in the rebound. City pressed forward and were rewarded for their efforts when Sam Willis arrived late at the far post for a simple tap in. City Line-Up: Hilton, Willis, Howell, Bexfield, Spillane, Djahansouzi, Daley, Bell, Martin, Mills, Muddel. Subs: Vaughan, Page, Clapham, Manning, Smith. |
