City's Academy side ran out comfortable winners in the annual Jack Constance Memorial Cup match at Beccles on Monday night. A goal up at the interval, David Williams' side scored three second-half goals before the game was brought to a premature end after 85 minutes when a sudden thunderstorm made conditions too dangerous to carry on. Nevertheless the result still stands, with the Canaries having now taken a hat-trick of wins after the previous four games had all been drawn. City led at the interval thanks to an own-goal, although Robert Eagle would like to have claimed the goal for himself. City extended their lead on the hour mark when Man Of The Match Seb Muddel beat the off side trap to round the keeper and slot the ball home. |

Three minutes later and City were three goals to the good when John Bell drove home an unstoppable 30-yard free kick, a goal that would grace any ground. David Williams then made a double substitution and it was one of these, in the shape of Luke Daly, who arrived late at the far post to find the net after only having been on the pitch for a matter of seconds. Despite the fact that the game had to be cut short due to the weather conditions, it did not spoil what was and is always a very enjoyable night at Beccles. |
