It was a case of the late, late show for the Canaries at Colney on Saturday when a goal with virtually the last kick of the game saw David Williams' side take all three points from bottom of the table Fulham. With Kris Renton away on international duty with Scotland, it was Luke Daley and Kurtis Bryne who led the attack, while there was a first start for Danny Kelly in defence. Danny is the younger brother of Ross and along with David Cooper, Declan Rudd and Nick Davey is one of four 4 Under-16's who have been offered scholarships with The Academy at the start of next season - more on this story later in the week. In glorious sunshine it was the visitors who made the early running with Jordan Wilson sending a shot over Steve Arnold's crossbar. |

It was however the pace of Bradley Hudson that was giving the City defence a few anxious moments and it needed a timely tackle from Paul McLean to deny the Fulham striker. City finally started to get their game together and they went close through Kurtis Byrne who worked his way into a good position, only to see his left footed effort go inches wide of the far post. Danny Kelly was enjoying his debut and he was the next to deny Hudson, this time with a superb double tackle, while at the other end Patrick Bexfield saw a deflected cross cleared off the line by Fulham keeper Neil Ethridge. |

Williams introduced Bally Smart for the start of the second-half and it almost paid dividends when he was set up by Jamie Eames, but the South African saw his shot saved by Ethridge. If City had been on the back foot for most of the first half the tables were certainly turned after the interval as they pushed Fulham back. Smart was once again in the thick of the the action when he sent a header into the danger area only for Byrne to head over from just five yards. Mark O'Toole, who was being used as a left-sided midfielder, sent in a free kick that Tom Miller headed over, while Ross Kelly brought the save of the game out of Ethridge when he unleashed a stinging shot that the Fulham keeper palmed away low down to his left. |

With time running out and the game having 0-0 written all over it, the Canaries popped up with the winner when Ross Kelly again tried his luck from distance. The ball deflected off a Fulham defender and fell kindly for Luke Daley who didn't waste the opportunity when he lifted his shot over the advancing keeper. City Line-Up: Arnold, Matthews [Smart 45], Bexfield, D. Kelly, McLean, Miller, Eames, R. Kelly, Byrne, Daley, O'Toole [Lathrope 71]. Subs Not Used: Rudd, Quaye, Muddel. Top Canary: Danny Kelly. |
