City's Under-18 Academy side drew 1-1 at Fulham on Saturday with schoolboy Nick Davey the goalscorer. The first-half saw an open game with chances at both ends. Norwich's best opportunities fell to Alvin Quaye who hit the bar with a header from a corner and Luke Daley who lost out when put through for a one-on-one with the keeper. At the other end Steve Arnold was kept busy and saw Norwich through to half-time with a good performance. The second-half saw the young Canaries start brightly and City took control of the game, passing the ball well and causing problems for the Fulham defence. On the hour mark Norwich's pressure paid off. Jamie Eames whipped a corner into the near post and it was Nick Davey who came away claiming the goal after a scramble near the goal-line. It was Davey's first goal at this level, the youngster having scored the winner in the Foyle Cup Final for the Under-16's in the summer. |

City then made the mistake of sitting back too much and allowing a fired-up Fulham side back into the game. Ten minutes from time the equaliser fell direct from a free-kick leaving coach David Williams disappointed that his side had failed to secure the victory. City Line-Up: Arnold, Matthews, Bexfield, Miller, Quaye, O'Toole, Eames, Lathrope, Davey (Jong 75), Muddel, Daley. Subs Not Used: Renton, Revell. Top Canary: Steve Arnold. |
