FULHAM WIN LAST DAY TUSSLE

NORWICH CITY UNDER-18's 0 FULHAM UNDER-18's 1

For the second consecutive week, City's Under-18s went down by the only goal of the game - and just like last week against Coventry, they were again denied by a great display from the visiting 'keeper.

For the Canaries, just one place off the bottom of the league, it was the final game of the season against Fulham - who were one place below them.

The visitors started the brighter but while they had the lion's share of possession in the opening 15 minutes, they failed to trouble Joe Lewis in the city goal.

Somewhat against the run of play, City almost opened the scoring when Bally Smart found time and space to let fly form just inside the box only for Corrin Brooks-Meade to make a great one-handed and then recover to make an even better save to deny Chris Martin who had picked up the rebound.

At the other end, Lewis saved from Bradley Hudson-Odoi, while moments later City's Under-18 international made another save, this time to deny Tom Moncur.

Ten minutes into the second-half, Fulham made a double substitution that had an almost immediate impact.

On the hour, a cross was met at the far post by Callum Legate, who volleyed home.

Smart's blistering pace was causing the Fulham defence plenty of problems, but when he did race clear once again Brooks-Meade produced the save.

City substitute Nicky Howell was next to go close, but Brooks-Meade frustrated the Canaries with yet another save.
At the other end, Fulham almost had a second when City defender Adam Gusterson sliced the ball only inches over his own crossbar.

As the game moved into the final minutes, it was Brooks-Meade who had the final word with yet another stunning save, this time to deny Chris Martin.
