ROSSI JARVIS RETURN FAILS TO PREVENT DEFEAT

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN UNDER-18's 2 NORWICH CITY UNDER-18's 0

David Williams saw his side return empty handed from North Yorkshire on Friday as City's Academy side were savaged by the young Terriers.

Two second half goals from Matthew Young were enough to sink the Canaries, who up until the second goal went in had rarely troubled Jacob Giles in the Town goal.

It was not all bad news for City however. One positive outcome from what was a disappointing performance was the return of Rossi Jarvis after damaging his cruciate ligaments in the Northern Ireland Milk Cup over 12 months ago.

Jarvis got a good reception from the small but vocal Canary following when he came on as a second half substitute and once the first crunching tackle went in it was clear to see that Rossi was keen to make up for lost time.

During a quiet first half Lee Blackburn went close for City with a header that Giles had no problems in holding onto, while at the other end Shane Herbert needed two attempts to hold onto a stinging shot from Young.

After scoring from a similar position last week against Leeds at Colney, Danny Crow tried his luck with a long range free-kick, this time however - with Giles beaten - it was the woodwork that denied the City striker.

Less than a minute later Town opened their account when City were caught on the break with Young on hand to head home at the far post.

Just 5 minutes later and The Terriers were two to the good when Herbert was beaten by Young with a shot from the edge of the area.
City deserved some credit as they battled to get back into the game but Giles denied Seb Muddel, Chris Martin and Robert Eagle, while Blackburn sent a cross crashing against the upright after a magnificent run by Jarvis.
