A GOAL after 83 minutes sank Norwich City Under-18's at Crystal Palace on Saturday. After five straight defeats it seemed that City's Academy side had turned a corner in their last game, two weeks ago, when they shared the points with Ipswich Town at Colney. Unfortunately, after last week's rest, it was a return to normal service when they went down by the only goal. David Williams was nevertheless upbeat, despite the result, with his young side once again containing a sprinkling of schoolboys. Both sides found it difficult to create clear-cut chances and it was not until the 83rd minute that Palace cashed in on a mistake by the City rearguard. The Canaries have their final Academy game of 2004 next Saturday when West Ham visit Colney. After that, City face Burnley , in the FA Youth Cup at Turf Moor on December 15. |
