City Win At Palace

CRYSTAL PALACE UNDER-18's 1 NORWICH CITY UNDER-18's 2

Seb Muddel - scored his third goal in three games
Following their derby day victory over Ipswich Town at Colney last week, City's Academy side maintained their winning form with victory at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

David Williams welcomed back Adam Gusterson in defence after he recovered from an ankle injury sustained in the reserve team defeat at Coventry last month.

On a pitch not conducive to passing football, both teams struggled to make any impact in a disappointing first half.

The Eagles started the second half in the driving seat, while the Canaries were content with hitting them on the counter-attack.

This paid dividends after 54 minutes when a good move involving Lee Howlett and Chris Martin set up Seb Muddel, who tucked the ball away for his third goal in as many games for the Under-18's.

It got even better for City after 72 minutes, when they doubled their lead. Patrick Bexfield fed the ball to Chris Martin, who fired the ball home to add to the goal he scored for the reserves against Watford on Monday night.
Palace scored what was only a consolation goal three minutes from time. Although City 'keeper Steve Arnold saved the initial shot, the rebound was fired home.

City Line-Up: Arnold, Gusterson, Eagle, Cave-Brown (Miller, 87 min), Halliday, Howlett, Eames, Bexfield (Fisk, 75 min), Martin, Muddel (El Ouargui, 70 min), Smart.

Top Canary: Patrick Bexfield
