City Under-18's took part in an entertaining game in their first pre-season outing as a group on Saturday. The game against Peterborough saw City take a 2-0 lead before the Posh fought back to earn a draw. City included trialist Chae Simmons up front with both teams looking to find their feet in the opening fifteen minutes. The first serious attempt on goal came from a lively looking Sam Kelly before Peterborough hit a post on twenty two minutes. Patrick Drmola suffered a nasty looking knee injury on the half hour which clearly left him in pain and he was taken off a few minutes later. His replacement Jamar Loza was immediately in the thick of the action and brought a great save from the visiting keeper following a mazy run. From the resulting corner City took the lead as centre back Taylor McKenzie powered in a header. It continued to be an open game as Peterborough forced a good save out of Remy Matthews and then hit the post again before half-time. City extended their lead on 65 minutes as Jamar Loza scored from close range following a well worked move. Peterborough continued to fight however. On 75 minutes they were again denied by the woodwork before pulling two goals back in quick succession. Indeed Remy Matthews had to pull off a good save to keep Norwich in it as the game drew to the close. City Line-Up: Remi Matthews, Richard Brindley, Remy Gordon (45. Alex Stephens), Matthew Ball, Taylor McKenzie (60. Gary Hause), Theo Jones, Ryan Oakley (76. Michael Clunan), Jason Dobbs (60. Dean Florence) , Patrick Drmola (35. Jamar Loza), Chae Simmons, Sam Kelly. |
