David Williams saw his side record their first win of the season at Colney on Saturday when goals from Danny Crow and Robert Eagle took the sting out of the Young Hornets. It is the second week in a row that Crow and Eagle have hit the target after the pair had scored a goal apiece against Spurs just last week. The match marked the first game as a scholar for Adam Gusterson, after he had been sidelined with a long-term knee injury. There was also a welcome return for Jake Osborne from injury, although the young defender started the game on the bench. Chances were few and far between in the opening 45 minutes, although it needed a good covering header from Andrew Cave-Brown to deny Watford's Elliot Frost. |

City only had one real shot on target before the break this coming from Rossi Jarvis, although it turned out to be a comfortable save for Reece Kirk in the visitors goal. After a less than entertaining first half the game burst into life after the break with Shane Herbert having to be at his very best to deny Frost at the near post. City's opening goal came on 67 minutes after some persistent work by Seb Muddel, who nicked the ball to set Robert Eagle clear before he sent in a low cross that Crow steered in from close range. City continued to push forward looking for their second and it needed a great tackle from defender Daniel Gwyther to deny Nicky Howell a shooting opportunity. |

City might have scored a second through Muddel but with just the keeper to beat Kirk produced a good save. Muddel was on hand however to feed the ball through to Eagle just three minutes before full time, the City winger rounding Kirk to fire the ball home. Norwich Line-Up: Herbert, Cave-Brown, Jarvis, Fisk, Halliday [Howlett 45], Gusterson [Osborne 45] Howell, Blackburn, Crow, Muddel, Eagle. Subs Not Used: P. Smith, Spillane. Top Canary: Shane Herbert. |
