Last Sunday (1st July) saw the induction day at Colney when the second year scholars returned from their summer break. It was also time for the new first year lads to report to Colney, when in the presence of Academy manager Ricky Martin and Canaries boss Peter Grant they signed their scholarship papers. The five new scholars to sign on the dotted line are goalkeeper Declan Rudd, defender Danny Kelly, striker Nick Davey, defender David Cooper and midfielder Korey Smith. The lads were welcomed to The Academy by Ricky Martin and the rest of the Academy staff before Peter Grant explained at great lengths what they can expect over the next two seasons. Everyone at FONCY would like to welcome these lads to Norwich City and at the time wish them and the second year scholars all the very best over the coming season.	New Scholars for 2007/08
All the scholars line up on Sunday	Pre-Season Schedule City's Academy side kick off their pre-season schedule on Saturday 14th July at 3pm when they visit Norwich United - now under the guidance of former Academy coach Gary Butcher. They then visit Needham Market on Friday 20th July (7:30pm) before Spurs bring their Academy side to Colney on Saturday 28th July (12 pm). There then follow visits to West Norfolk; the first to Dereham on Friday 3rd August (7:30pm) and again on the following Friday 10th August with a visit to Kings Lynn (7:30pm). The following Friday Ricky Martin will be taking the team for a two day tournament in France, we hope to bring you more details on this later.
The Academy season kicks off on Saturday 18th. August, however with the team away in France their season will not get underway until the following Saturday. Fixtures in summary here (Photos and report courtesy of John Landamore)
