Last Sunday (29th June) saw the induction day at Colney when the second year scholars returned from their summer break. It was also time for the new first year lads to report to Colney, when in the presence of Academy manager Ricky Martin and Canaries Chief Executive neil Doncaster they signed their scholarship papers. A further highlight saw Declan Rudd and Korey Smith put pen to paper on the professional contracts after only one season as scholars. There are a total of nine new first-year scholars with five of them coming up from last seasons successful Academy Under-16 squad. Tom Adeyemi (midfield) and Sam Habergham (defence, not present on Sunday) are both local lads from Norwich and Attleborough respectively, while Welsh youth internationals David Stephens (midfield) and Josh Dawkin (forward) hail from Welwyn Garden City and St. Ives respectively. Ghanaian Manny Richardson (forward) more has lived more recently in Luton. They are joined by Tyree Clarke, a striker from Birmingham City and George Francomb, a defender from Hornchurch who has been playing local football in Essex. Dario Dumic (Midfield) hails from Copenhagen and has been tracked by Norwich for several years while Kenny Reeves (forward) rejoins the Academy after a couple of years away in local football. Everyone at FONCY would like to welcome these lads to Norwich City and at the time wish them, the second year scholars and the new professionals all the very best over the coming season. The Pre-Season schedule for the Under-18's has also been published:
The FONCY Website will of course provide extensive coverage of all the pre-season action. Photos |
