Monday night sees one of the most eagerly awaited dates of the Academy season as the young Canaries enter the F.A. Youth Cup fray with a 3rd round game against Bolton Wanderers. The Trotters visit Norwich for a game that will be staged at Carrow Road (7pm kick-off). Having reached the fifth round last year City will be looking to carry their interest in the Cup through into the New Year with a home win. The Cup is at Under-18 level and as such rules out participation from the third year scholars. Sammy Morgan has used the last few Academy games to play-in an Under-18 side and will have been disappointed that last saturday's postponement at Millwall robbed him of a chance to fine tune his line-up. |

| With the coming weekend reserved in the Academy calander for "in-house training", Morgan is likely to have his squad in at Colney at the weekend for a final workout. Whether Sammy can include newly crowned "youngest-ever scorer" Ryan Jarvis is likely to depend on what part the striker plays with the first team at home to Crewe on saturday. |

Bolton Preview Bolton play in Group A of the Academy League, mixing it with the likes of both Manchester and Liverpool clubs. It is dangerous to take the Under-19 level as a measure for this Under-18 Cup game, but for the record Bolton's last three games at this level have seen two defeats and one draw: 22.11.03 Manchester United 3 Bolton 0 15.11.03 Bolton 0 Blackburn Rovers 4 08.11.03 Liverpool 2 Bolton 2 They currently occupy 8th place in this ten team league with 4 wins and 2 draws from 12 games. |

One To Watch One player who has caused quite a stir in the Bolton Academy this season has been 16 year-old Ricardo Vaz Te. Arriving from Farense at the beginning of the season, the Portuguese youngster has scored plenty of goals, including a hat-trick in a game at Ipswich earlier in the season. |

Last Season in the FA Youth Cup At the same stage last season, City put out holders Aston Villa in a 2-1 victory in front of 1500 spectators at Carrow Road. Damian Batt and Nicky Howell were the scorers and although Villa pulled a goal back through England international Luke Moore in the second half, the Canaries hung on for a famous victory. Howell is likely to feature on monday, as is Jake Osborne who came in as a schoolboy to fill the left-back role, doing a grand job to keep Moore under control for most of the game. The fourth round brought a trip to Selhurst Park to face Wimbledon. On a freezing December night in South London City won 2-0 in front of a crowd of 206. Jake Osborne put Norwich ahead with a header after just two minutes and Danny Crow added a second before half-time. City finally came unstuck at Upton Park against West Ham in the fifth round. As the match report details, a Ryan Jarvis strike in the second-half, wasn't enough to prevent the Canaries going out 2-1. |
