City's Under-19 Academy team staged a storming second-half comeback after being three goals adrift to take a share of the points at Fulham on Saturday. Shane Herbert was making his league debut in goal, however he was the only Canary keeper in the squad, as Aaron Osborne has yet to recover from injury, but the big talking point was the inclusion of 15 year-old Joe Lewis in City's first team squad for the day's clash against Burnley at Carrow Road. |

This came about because it was believed Robert Green had been suffering with flu during the week and Joe was drafted into the squad in the event that Green was unfit to play. The record will show that Green played in the game and that Paul Crichton was on the bench, however what a story it nearly turned out to be for City's England International. Just for the record Joe Lewis is believed to be squad number 28. After making the long trip to Motspur Park, City made the worse possible start going a goal down after just 5 minutes when a sweeping free kick was missed by both defender and attacker alike and sailed into the far corner. Four minutes later and City found themselves two goals adrift when Fulham were first to react after a shot came back off the woodwork, and with the Canaries defence all at sea Fulham scored their second. With just one minute to go before the break Adrian Boothroyd's side were left with a mountain to climb when Fulham scored their third with a shot from the edge of the area. |

With little to lose City threw caution to the wind after the break and were rewarded with a goal on 50 minutes when Lee Blackburn headed an Adam Smith cross in at the far post. Four minutes later and the Canaries were back in contention when a corner, again from Smith, was headed in at the far post by Greg Crane. Boothroyd's side left it late to get the equaliser, in fact there were only 60 seconds left on the clock. Adam Smith was again the provider in a unique hat trick of assists. This time his corner was met by David Tyrie, and when the Fulham keeper failed to hold onto his effort there was super-sub Matthew Halliday to slot the ball home. |
