David Williams Announces Retirement

Everyone at FONCY was sorry to here that Academy Under-18 coach and Technical Director David Williams has announced his retirement and will be leaving the club on May 18th.

David said his farewells to all the Academy youngsters when they were at Colney for the last training session of the season.

In what is his second spell at the club David has been Academy coach for the past two seasons, taking over the reigns at the same time Ricky Martin was appointed Academy Manager.

David has sold his house in Norwich and is planning to return to Harrogate where he told FONCY Chairman John Landamore that he is looking forward to spending more time on the golf course.

David expressed his thanks for what FONCY has done and in his words will continue to do for The Academy.

He said that sometimes the lads themselves may not always fully understand the important role FONCY has to play, but that is certainly not the case of the staff who know all to well how vital FONCY is the continued success of The Academy.

Everyone at FONCY would like to thank David for his efforts over the past two years and I am sure our supporters would like to join us in wishing him well in his retirement.
