Last Friday evening the Pink-Un Pickers (PUPs) who are generously sponsored by Dixmar Racing, presented a cheque for £397 to FONCY. The money was raised on the increasingly popular Free Bet Thread or as it is now known "Rays Funds For The Academy" in honour of the late Ray Ducker who started the whole thing. Every week PUPs from all over the world unite to predict six results on the weekends football. Billy Dixon (Dixmar Racing) gives them a free £10 bet on these six selections and any money won goes to the Academy via FONCY. Last season there were seven winning weeks which in total raised £397. This follows the £212 raised the previous season taking the total presented so far to over £600. John landamore of FONCY was joined by Neil Adams from the Academy to accept the latest cheque from Billy Dixon. There is of course keen competition amongst the PUPs themselves and who have their own competition through the season to see who can be the most successful tipster. Trophies were donated by Kev (aka Leedscanary) and were presented by Neil Adams. The Top PUP for the season was Bernie (aka Inch High) who correctly predicted in 35 of the 40 weeks. There was also a trophy for the top PUP for the previous season, Clyde (aka Yankee Canary), and Neil also presented a trophy to Billy Dixon in recognition of his generous sponsorship that makes the whole thing possible. Rays Funds For The Academy has already started for this season but unfortunately there have been no winning weeks as yet although they have been very close. The idea is proving more popular than ever with around 65 PUPs taking part every week. These fans come from all over the world united by the aim of raising money for their beloved football club. FONCY would like to pass on their thanks to all PUPs and Billy Dixon for their support. |
