FONCY Player Of The Season 2006

PATRICK BEXFIELD CLAIMS FONCY PLAYER OF THE SEASON AWARD

FONCY Chairman John Landamore and committee member Richard Bland were joined on the pitch at Carrow Road by John's grandson Lewis Chapman to present Patrick Bexfield with the annual Friends Of Norwich City Youth Player of the Season award.

After a quiet start to his scholarship at the club, first-year trainee Patrick settled well into the Academy Under-18 side, playing in a variety of rolls asked of him by David Williams.

Patrick was asked to play at right and left back as well as getting forward down either flank.

Patrick is something of a late developer as far as physique is concerned but you would not have suspected that with his tough no-nonsense tackling.

Late in the campaign Patrick got the opportunity to play in a more central midfield role, a position he is more accustomed to, and from his end of season performances it is a role he must be looking forward to continuing when the new season gets underway.

Everyone at FONCY would like to congratulate Patrick on picking up the award and wish him and all the other Academy scholars all the very best for next season.

We would like to thank David Gray for his continued support of this award.
