27.04.05 - OPEN DAY DRAWS NEAR The Annual Open Day at Carrow Road is drawing near, and with it FONCY's busiest and most lucrative day of the year. The committee is currently working hard to prepare the various events for the day. Firstly there will be the FONCY stall. FONCY have again raided Colney for old training kit and Terry Postle has been very generous with a large selection of training kit from your favourite players available at very fair prices. Also available will be a new FONCY Coffee Mug. Always a FONCY favourite, the new Coffee mug commemorates the Academy graduates who have this year made their Premiership debut. Messrs Shackell, Henderson, Jarvis and Crow are featured on a limited edition Mug which will be available at a cost of only £5. |
|
Then of course we will have the traditional FONCY Memorabilia Auction. While the catalogue is still being finalised we are hoping to add a signed pair of personalised Darren Huckerby football boots to many other gems on the day. The normal selection of autographed shirts will be available, including those of Dean Ashton and Jason Shackell together with many other first team players. The draft auction catalogue is still very much open to change. The day will be rounded off with the draw for the 2005 FONCY Raffle. Tickets are selling fast - have you bought yours yet? Make sure you see the FONCY team at the Open Day and contribute to our fundraising efforts, all for the benefit of the Academy. |

03.04.05 - EASTER INTERNATIONAL UPDATE
![]() Michael Spillane |
The Easter period saw two UEFA Championship Qualifying groups being staged in England at Under-19 and Under-17 level with Norwich having players in both competitions. Ryan Jarvis had two starts for England Under-19's against Sweden and Moldova (both 1-0 wins). Although Jarvis failed to score, he helped England qualify for the UEFA Championship finals in Northern Ireland in July. Michael Spillane played in all three Republic of Ireland Under-17's games in their UEFA qualifying Group in England. Although the Irish failed to win the group to qualify, Michael is sure to have gained lots of experience from the games against Northern Ireland, Bosnia and England. The game against England was played in front of a 3,500 crowd at Walsall but did see Michael pick up a red-card late on for a foul as an England player broke though. |
