22.07.05 - ASMAT'S DELIGHT Danish Academy striker Asmat El Ouargui has made a quicker than expected recovery from the neck injury he received as the result of a car crash earlier this year. Asmat returned to action on Tuesday as the Under-18's beat Portsmouth 5-0 in their first friendly of the season. Andrew Fisk was a late nomination for the Canaries' first team squad who travelled to the Netherlands on Pre-Season tour. Against MVV Maastricht on Saturday evening three Academy lads got a run out. Rossi Jarvis and Fisk were in the middle of the park for the second half, after first Jarrett and then Francis suffered injuries. Andrew Cave-Brown replaced Louis-Jean with ten minutes to go. 14.07.05 - ACADEMY YOUNGSTERS JOIN UP FOR HOLLAND TOUR

Three Academy players will be joining the first team squad for their mini-tour of Holland that kicks off on Saturday. Current FONCY player of the season Matthew Halliday, who opened the scoring against Dereham Town on Wednesday, is one of three defenders who will be included in Nigel Worthington's travelling party. Joining Halliday will be Andrew Cave-Brown and Rossi Jarvis, who both played in the second-half at Aldiss Park. Whilst both players are considered to be more at home in defence, they can play in a variety of positions as Jarvis showed on Wednesday when he linked up in midfield with Damien Francis. |
14.07.05 - PROVISIONAL 2005/06 ACADEMY FIXTURES

We now have the provisional fixture list for the Under-18s in the coming season. City kick-off with a trip to Derby on August 20th before welcoming Wolves to Colney a week later. While some fixtures and all kick-off times are still be confirmed the list allows the Colney faithful to start planning their weekends in advance. The under-18's kick-off their friendly programme next Tuesday at home to Portsmouth (1pm). We will report later next week on this opening fixture. Last Friday saw the Academy Induction evening at Colney for this season's Academy Scholars. FONCY were on hand to record the event and welcome this year's new first-year scholars to the fold.
