19.04.06 - ROSSI ATTRACTS PLAUDITS

Rossi Jarvis drew positive comments from England Under-18 coach Brian Eastick following his debut for the international side at Bournmemouth against Slovenia on Easter Monday. England won 2-1 infront of a 9,500 strong crowd.

The younger of the Jarvis brothers was asked to play in three different positions during the course of the game (central defence, left-back, left midfield) and by all accounts put in an accomplished display, including providing the cross in the build up to the winning goal.

14.04.06 - ARNOLD SILENCES GUNNERS

Steve Arnold produced a Man of the Match performance in goal to secure Norwich Under-18's a share of the points at Arsenal on Thursday.

The goalless draw can be considered a good result for the Canaries who weathered the Arsenal pressure well in the second-half and failed to make the most of their own chances on the break.

04.04.06 - FOUR ACADEMY YOUNGSTERS OFFERED CONTRACTS

Matthew Halliday Player Profile
Matthew Halliday
Everyone at FONCY was delighted with the news from Colney last week that four Academy youngsters have been awarded professional contracts with the club.

Third year scholars Matthew Halliday and Robert Eagle have been joined by second year scholars Andrew Cave-Brown and Andrew Fisk in being given the opportunity to join the professional ranks at Colney from the 2006/2007 season with the option of a further year at the end of next season.

Of course it was not all good news to come out of Colney as it was announced that both Lee Howlett and Adam Gusterson would be leaving the club at the end of the current campaign. Everyone at FONCY would like to wish these two lads all the very best for the future.
The FONCY Chairman caught up with both Lee and Adam Colney on Saturday saying that it had been a privilege to watch them play, not only over the past few years as scholars but also during the previous years as schoolboys at The Academy. It seems that both will be involved up at Kings Lynn for the remainder of the season where they will link up with former Academy scholar Adam Smith.

04.04.06 - INTERNATIONAL UPDATE

As reported locally Norwich's Michael Spillane failed to qualify for the UEFA Under-17's Championship Final with Ireland last week. Following victory over Romania, a draw against Israel and defeat against Serbia & Montenegro put paid to Irish hopes. Michael was however involved in all three games and will undoubtedly have learnt a lot from the experience.

Next up is Rossi Jarvis who joins up with England Under-18's at Easter for a friendly against Slovenia being played at Bournemouth.

03.04.06 - DEFENDERS SAVE THE DAY

Norwich Under-18's came from behind twice to draw with MK Dons at Colney on Saturday.

Defenders Alvin Quaye and Matthew Halliday were the goalscorers on a blustery morning in the Norfolk countryside.
