Foyle Cup Link

Norwich City Under-16's have had a successful week at the Foyle Cup in Derry so far. A successful qualifying group stage, including a 2-0 win against Glentoran, saw the young side reach today's quarter-final.

The quarter-final, against a Representative XI from the Irish NE Counties Schoolboys League, was won 2-0 and City now go on to face Dundalk Schools in Friday's semi-final at Derry City's Brandywell ground. Up to date news over the weekend will be available at www.foylecup.typepad.com.

27.07.06 - CAVE-BROWN IN FINAL

Scotland Under-19's have reached the final of this year's UEFA Under-19 Championship in Poland this week.

Norwich's former Academy defender Andrew Cave-Brown has been an ever-present for the Scots at right-back to help them on their way. Scotland seemed unlikely to reach the final stages after a 2-2 draw with Portugal and a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Spain. However a final group game win against Turkey (3-2) saw them though.

The Scots beat the Czech Republic 1-0 last night in Poland to reach an unlikely final on Saturday. Here they will again face the impressive Spaniards and will be hoping for a better result than in their group encounter. The final will be live on Eurosport on Saturday at 7pm UK time.

Their progress in the tournament also means that Scotland have qualified for the World Under-20 Championships to be staged in Canada next year.
