24.11.06 - INTERNATIONAL UPDATE

Norwich City goalkeeper Declan Rudd has retained his place in the England Under-16 squad and will join up with England Under-16's for the deciding Sky Sports Victory Shield game against Scotland in York on Friday December 8th (8.05 pm, live on Sky Sports). England need a win to secure the shield for a second year.

Meanwhile Michael Spillane will be joining up with the Republic of Ireland Under-19's for their trip to Paris to play France on Wednesday December 6th.

24.11.06 - CUP DATE SET

The date has been set for Norwich City's F.A. Youth Cup 3rd Round tie at Portsmouth. The young Canaries travel to the south coast on Wednesday December 13th for a 7pm Kick-off.

We wish the Academy side good luck for the game and hope we can accompany the boys on a good cup run. Look out for more build up to the match on this website nearer the date.

21.11.06 - CONGRATULATIONS ADAM

Everyone at FONCY would like to congratulate former Norwich City Academy Scholar Adam Smith on his professional contract at Peterborough United. Adam, having helped Kings Lynn through to the second round of the F.A. Cup, joins Peterborough on a three and a half year deal.

Having watched Adam progress through the ranks from a young age at Colney it is a pleasure to see him join Danny Crow at The Posh. Good luck Adam.

19.11.06 - UNDER-18'S SHARE POINTS WITH FULHAM

Norwich Under-18's drew 1-1 at Fulham on Saturday.

Nick Davey put Norwich ahead in the second-half before Fulham equalised ten minutes from time. Steve Arnold put in a good performance in the Norwich goal.

Logo 17.11.06 - IT'S PORTSMOUTH IN THE YOUTH CUP

Norwich City face a trip to Portsmouth in the Third Round of the F.A. Youth Cup, following today's draw. Portsmouth play their Under-18 football in the Football League run Puma Youth Alliance where they are surprisingly bottom of their section.

Great Yarmouth will travel to Birmingham City in the third round if they beat Chesterfield in next week's second round game at the Wellesley.
Third round games have to be played by December 16th. As soon as we know a date for the game we will post more information here.

12.11.06 - NOWICH SUFFER FROM THE BLUES

Norwich Under-18's lost 1-0 to Chelsea at Colney on Saturday, bringing to an end their recent good run of results.

In all honesty the Canaries failed to get going until towards the end of the match by which time Chelsea had scored the only goal of the game.

Millwall Match Report
05.11.06 - CANARIES BEAT LIONS

Norwich Under-18's continued their winning stereak with a 2-0 at Millwall on Saturday.

Luke Daley and Seb Muddel were the scorers giving City a second consecutive win after beating Ipswich two weeks ago.

The result sets up the Canaries nicely for the visit of Chelsea to Colney next week.

03.11.06 - RUDD FOR ENGLAND

Declan Rudd
Norwich City goalkeeper Declan Rudd has been called up into the England Under-16 squad. The Diss youngster joins up with England Under-16's for the Sky Sports Victory Shield game against Northern Ireland in Ballymena on November 10th (7.45 pm, live on Sky Sports).

Declan was last in Northern Ireland in the summer when the Academy Under-16's won the Foyle Cup and Declan will be hoping for an equally successful trip this time.

FONCY has followed Declan's progress and reported on various tournaments with his participation over the years and would like to add our congratulations on what is hopefully the first of many call-ups.
