28.09.07 - MATCH REPORT DELAYS

With your webmaster taking a well-earned break (mostly at Colney and Carrow Road) over the next few days, there will be a delay in providing the match report against Charlton Under-18s until later in the week.

We apologise for the delay and will resume normal service after a short break.

28.09.07 - RUDD AND STEER FOR ENGLAND
Academy keeper Declan Rudd is in the England's Under-17 squad for their UEFA Qualifying Group in Estonia from 21st to 27th October. He will be contesting the number one jersey with Wesley Fotheringham who was in Korea for the U17 World Cup Finals in the summer. In addition to the hosts, England face Malta and Portugal in the group with two countries going through to the next stage.

Another Academy keeper, Jed Steer, joins up with the England Under-16 squad for the Vicory Shield international against Northern Ireland at Blackpool on October 11th with the game being covered live by Sky Sports.

With further call-ups for David Stephens (Wales Under-17) and Josh Dawkin (Wales Under-16) it is a busy time for the Academy. David is with Wales for UEFA Qualifying games in Andorra against the hosts, Spain and San Marino from 1st to 6th October, while Josh has been in action this week in two friendlies in France (0-2 and 2-2).

23.09.07 - RENTON DOUBLE GIVES NORWICH VICTORY

Norwich Under-18's won 2-0 against Watford at Colney on Saturday, Kris Renton grabbing a goal in each half.

The match also saw late substitute debuts at Academy level for schoolboys David Stephens and Tom Adeyemi. Congratulations lads!

21.09.07 - GERMAN CANARIES REPORT ON UNDER-14'S
The fan club German Canaries were present in Lohne for the recent Under-14 trip to Germany and have now published their report with photos on their website. The report can be accessed directly by clicking here or on the emblem right.

On behalf of the Academy our thanks go to Hennes from the fan club for his support on the day - the cakes went down particularly well!

21.09.07 - ACADEMY TEAM GROUPS 2007/08

FONCY Chairman John Landamore was at the recent Academy photo-shoot to record this season's Academy team groups for posterity.

16.09.07 - NORWICH SUNK BY HUTCHINS

Norwich Under-18's crashed to a 6-1 defeat at Spurs on Saturday but FONCY correspondent Rob Maynard felt City's performance was by no means as bad as the result would suggest.

Paul McLean was City's first-half scorer but Tottenham hit Norwich with a goal blitz to be 4-1 up at half-time with Daniel Hutchins grabbing a hat-trick during the course of the match.

12.09.07 - RICHARD REACHES 251

The Reserves' visit to Milton Keynes on Monday evening saw Richard Bland reach a new milestone - although it was actually ground 251 rather that 250 in the end.

09.09.07 - CITY DOMINATE FIRST HOME MATCH

Norwich Under-18's were (almost) in complete control as they beat MK Dons at Colney on Saturday.

Four goals from the Canaries were scored between early and late goals from the visitors in a 4-2 win.

08.09.07 - UNDER-14'S IN GERMANY - FULL REPORT / PHOTOS

We are now pleased to present the full report and a large selection of photos from the Under-14's tournament last weekend in Lohne, Germany.

While the trip will not go down as the most successful in the Academy's history, the young side will have learnt much playing against some of Germany's best teams in this age group.

05.09.07 - UNDER-14'S IN GERMANY
The visit last weekend of an Academy Under-14 squad to a tournament in Lohne, near Bremen in Germany, belongs very firmly in the “experienced gained” category.

04.09.07 - ALL THE BEST KURTIS

Kurtis Byrne
FONCY would like to wish Republic of Ireland Under-17 striker Kurtis Byrne all the best after it emerged that his Scholarship has been taken over by Hibernian.

Kurtis played for the Edinburgh club's Under-19 side at the weekend against Inverness Caledonian and the move has now been reported as complete to FONCY.

Kurtis joined the Canaries as an Academy Scolar from the Irish club Cherry Orchard last summer, making fifteen appearances for the Under-18's last season and was also a regular in the Republic's Under-17 side.

04.09.07 - READING COMPLETE CONTROVERSIAL WIN

Norwich Under-18's lost to a controversial Reading winner in a 2-1 defeat away to the Royals on Saturday.

Damon Lathrope was the City scorer.
