At the time of writing Alvin is sidelined having suffered a double break to his left leg back in the autumn, although he is looking to be back in action again soon with a view to return not only to the Under-18's but also to find his way back into the Reserves. Alvin joined Norwich in July 2005 as a full time scholar after West Ham, who he had played for as a schoolboy, decided not to offer him a scholarship. Ironically it was against his old team mates that Alvin suffered his injury when the two sides met at Little Heath back in October. David Williams insists it was cruel luck for Alvin to suffer a setback just as he was starting to catch a few people's eye. "Alvin took a little while to settle in and he had to be content with a place on the bench for the opening games of the season. However, when his chance came he grabbed it with both hands and it was certainly a blow when he suffered his injury and against his old club." "He has been good to have around the place with a bit of a personality and he has endeared himself to his fellow players and the coaching staff. What we need to do now is get him back to full fitness so that he can hopefully be involved in the remaining games of the season." Lets hope that is the case and Alvin can finish the season on a bit of a high and put the disappointment of the last few months firmly behind him. Q+A with Alvin Quaye 1.
