It has been an exciting start to the new 2005/06 campaign for Andrew. After being involved with the first team during pre-season it then got even better when he got a call-up into the Scotland Under-19 squad earlier this month when he went onto play a full 90 minutes in both games against Denmark. Andrew came to the club as a trialist at the end of the 2003/2004 season after he was not offered a scholarship by Charlton, the club he had played for as a schoolboy. Andrew certainly did enough to impress and he joined The Academy at the start of last season. He can and has played in a number of roles for both The Academy and the Reserves and that ability to do a good job in a variety of roles is a big asset insists David Williams. "Since arriving at the club Andrew has seen his reputation grow, and that has come about not only because of the quality he brings, but because he can do that in a number of positions. He has played in all four positions across the back and can also slot in down the right flank either as a wing back or an out and out winger. I am delighted that his performances this season have given him the opportunity to play for Scotland at Under-19 level and I now hope that he can go on and play in the European Championship." The Academy has got off to a tremendous start to the 2005/06 season, going unbeaten in the first six games. Andrew has played an important part in that as well as doing a solid job for The Reserves.
