Most of the current crop of scholars have come through the system at Colney, there are however one or two exceptions to the rule. One exception is Robert Eagle who as a schoolboy was on the books of Ipswich Town before the Canaries snapped him up when The Blues decided not to offer him a scholarship. Like Matthew Halliday, Robert featured in the pre-season friendly at Dereham and, like Matthew, Robert also managed to get on the score sheet. Last season he played a number of Reserve Team matches for Keith Webb and clearly Robert would like to figure strongly again with the Reserves in 2005/06. David Williams insists Robert has an important weapon in his armory, one that he will need to bring into play if he is to stand a chance of earning a contract at Norwich. "Every club is always on the look out for a player with a cultured left foot," said David. " Robert certainly fits that bill and he has good pace to go with it." "This is an important year for him and he needs to start to impress people. We are aware that he has some good qualities but we need to see them more often, and when we do perhaps he will be able to stake a claim". Q + A with Robert Eagle 1.
