Rossi Jarvis

As far as Rossi is concerned the 2005/06 season could not have got off to a better start with a call-up into the first team squad for the tour to Holland, coming on as a sub for the visit of Italian giants Inter Milan to Carrow Road and if all that wasn't enough the manager saw fit to have him on the bench as a substitute for the Carling Cup clash against Milton Keynes Dons.

Rossi has come a long way from two years ago when he suffered a cruciate ligament injury while competing in the Northern Ireland Milk Cup. That injury kept him sidelined for over twelve months but the then Academy Director Sammy Morgan had already seen enough and he recommended that Rossi should be offered a scholarship despite the fact he would be unavailable to play during his final year at school.

Sammy's judgement is now paying dividends for both player and club alike and David Williams insists it is exciting times for the younger of the two Jarvis brothers.

"Rossi has had a big opportunity to step up and train with the pro's. I see him as a natural footballer and if I have to be critical I told him that he needs to sharpen up his game. That we have helped him with by playing him in midfield where he has the opportunity to get more involved with the game, although I do see him first and foremost as a defender. When he then drops back into that roll he can take the experience of playing in the middle of the park with him."

Should Rossi get his first team chance over this long Championship season, you can be rest assured he will give a good account of himself.
