Seb Muddel

Seb is all set to join the Academy on a full-time basis at the start of the 2005/2006 campaign, although, like most of the current crop of schoolboys, Seb has already made a number of appearances for David Williams' Under-18 side. In Seb's case that has been eleven starts and it might have been considerably more, had he not been sidelined with a lengthy injury mid-season.

He was however available for that memorable trip to Turf Moor back in November and it was his cross in extra-time that provided Asmat El Ouragui with the winning goal in the Youth Cup against Burnley.

It was however not Seb's first involvement in the competition as twelve months earlier he came off the bench as an Under-15 for the final ten minutes in the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford. For a young Seb that will clearly live long in his memory.

Whilst David Williams believes that Seb will probably be used as an out and out striker he sees that he has more to his game than that.

"Seb caught the eye pre-season and while I intended that we should not take any of the schoolboys to Denmark, a couple of injuries forced my hand, and as it happens Seb was one of the boys who happened to have a passport and so he joined us for the week in Denmark. He has scored a couple of goals and with the capability of playing down either flank he has also made a goal or two, most notable the winning goal in extra time at Burnley."

With just a couple of more home games to go before the end of the campaign doubtless Seb will be looking to impress before the season ends.
